Notes for Stephen Carpenter

Stephen was on the tax list in 1775 in Surry County, North Carolina. Wilkes County was created from Surry County in 1778. He had land in Wilkes County, in 1777, 1778, 1779-1791. He sold his land in 1791 and moved to Franlin County, Georgia. About 1798, Stephen moved to Hawkins County, Tennessee with John Collins. He sold his land in Franklin County, Georgia on 14 Oct 1799 thru his son' in law, Dixon Naylor. (Information from Ted Carpenter)
